Non-emergency patient transport covers planned journeys to appointments, between facilities, or home after a discharge. A little preparation makes the trip calmer and safer for everyone involved. This is general planning information for a planned journey — for any urgent or life-threatening situation, contact local emergency services immediately.

Before the journey

  • Confirm the pickup address, destination and appointment time, with a contact number at each end.
  • Note any mobility needs — whether the passenger can walk, uses a wheelchair, or needs help transferring.
  • Have required documents ready: appointment letters, referral notes and medical-aid or identity details where the facility asks for them.
  • Pack essentials: regular medication, water, a light snack if allowed, and a warm layer.
  • Share relevant needs in advance so the right support and timing can be arranged.

On the day

  • Allow time for traffic and for moving the passenger comfortably rather than rushing.
  • Keep a phone charged and reachable in case plans change.
  • Bring a companion where the passenger would be more comfortable with familiar support.

What to leave out of an enquiry

When you contact us to arrange transport, describe the general pickup and destination areas and the timing. Please leave out detailed medical records, identity numbers and clinical information — those are discussed directly, never in a website enquiry.

Important. This supports planning only. It is not medical advice and does not replace guidance from a healthcare professional. For emergencies, contact local emergency services.
